ONION CHEESE BREAD (BREAD MAKING MACHINE)

Onion Cheese Bread (Bread Making Machine) image

This is adapted from a recipe that came with my Toastmaster Breadmaker. It was for onion bread, I added the cheese. The bread is a light brown color because of the onion soup mix. This makes a 1 1/2 lb loaf.

Time 4h15m

Yield 1 loaf, 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/3 cup canned jalapeno pepper, minced
50 ml sugar
1 teaspoon salt
5 ounces hot water (105'-115')
1 package active dry yeast
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Follow your Bread machines recipe directions for adding ingredients.

Tips for Making Bread:

  • Choose the Right Flour: Different types of flour will produce different results. Bread flour is a high-protein flour that will give you a chewy, crusty loaf. All-purpose flour is a good option for everyday bread.
  • Use Fresh Yeast: Active dry yeast is the most common type of yeast used in bread making. Make sure your yeast is fresh and active before using it.
  • Measure Ingredients Accurately: Baking is a science, so it's important to measure your ingredients accurately. Use a kitchen scale for the best results.
  • Knead the Dough Properly: Kneading the dough develops the gluten, which gives bread its structure. Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the Dough Rise in a Warm Place: The dough needs time to rise in order to develop its flavor and texture. Find a warm place in your kitchen, such as a turned-off oven, to let the dough rise.
  • Preheat Your Oven: Before you put the bread in the oven, make sure the oven is preheated to the correct temperature. This will help the bread to rise evenly.
  • Bake the Bread Until It Is Golden Brown: The baking time will vary depending on the type of bread you are making. Bake the bread until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when you tap on it.

Conclusion:

Baking bread is a rewarding experience. With a little practice, you can make delicious, homemade bread that your family and friends will love. So what are you waiting for? Get started today!
