Tips:
- Use unsalted butter: Salted butter can make your frosting too salty. If you only have salted butter, omit the additional salt in the recipe.
- Brown the butter until it smells nutty and has a light amber color. If you brown the butter too much, it will taste burnt.
- Let the browned butter cool slightly before adding it to the frosting. If you add the hot butter, it will melt the frosting and make it too thin.
- Use a stand mixer or hand mixer to beat the frosting until it is light and fluffy. Beating the frosting for too long will make it grainy.
- Add the frosting to your favorite cake or cupcakes. Browned butter frosting is also delicious on cookies, brownies, and other desserts.
Conclusion:
Browned butter frosting is a delicious and easy-to-make frosting that can be used on a variety of desserts. It has a rich, nutty flavor that pairs well with chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Follow the tips above to make the perfect browned butter frosting every time.
