CARDAMOM SUGAR

I cannot eat cinnamon and there are times I miss the spice and aroma. I came up with this cinnamon sugar substitute. Enjoy this yummy sugar by sprinkling it on hot cereal, sliced fruit, or pastries. Ground cardamom could be substituted but the finished product will be less aromatic.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients to ensure the best flavor. Look for cardamom pods that are plump and green, and sugar that is fine and free of lumps.
  • Toast the cardamom pods before grinding them to release their full flavor.
  • Be careful not to overmix the dough, as this will make the cookies tough. Mix until the ingredients are just combined.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will help the cookies hold their shape while baking.
  • Roll the dough out thinly, to about 1/8-inch thick. This will ensure that the cookies are crispy.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just golden brown around the edges. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them. This will help them stay crispy.

Conclusion:

Cardamom sugar thins are a delicious and easy-to-make cookie that is perfect for any occasion. They are crispy, flavorful, and have a hint of sweetness that is sure to please everyone.
