CHINESE CABBAGE SALAD

Chinese Cabbage Salad image

Although I do NOT condone the consumption of ramen noodles, when I saw this recipe on Paula Deen's show, I simply had to try it!! I thought this dish was a lot of fun, and had great flavor. Best 8 cents I ever spent!! I use mushroom flavored ramen because there's no "meat" or meat products in the seasoning packets

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh Chinese cabbage and parsley. Look for cabbage that is firm and green, with no signs of wilting or yellowing. Parsley should be bright green and have a strong, fresh scent.
  • To make the salad ahead of time, wash and chop the cabbage and parsley and store them separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When ready to serve, combine the cabbage, parsley, and dressing and toss to coat.
  • If you don't have rice vinegar, you can substitute white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. However, rice vinegar has a milder flavor that is better suited to this salad.
  • You can also add other vegetables to this salad, such as shredded carrots, cucumber, or bell peppers. Just be sure to adjust the amount of dressing accordingly.
  • Serve this salad immediately or chill it for later. It is a great side dish for grilled or roasted meats, fish, or poultry.

Conclusion:

This Chinese cabbage and parsley salad is a refreshing and flavorful side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a healthy and delicious salad, give this one a try!
