Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs are best for this recipe. If you're using chicken breasts, pound them to an even thickness so they cook evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you're cooking a lot of chicken, cook it in batches so that the chicken doesn't steam instead of sear.
  • Use a good quality sour cream. Full-fat sour cream will give the sauce a richer flavor than low-fat or non-fat sour cream.
  • Don't boil the sauce. Bring the sauce to a simmer and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly.
  • Serve immediately. Chicken in garlic sour cream sauce is best served immediately, over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.

Conclusion:

Chicken in garlic sour cream sauce is a quick and easy dish that's perfect for a weeknight meal. It's also a great way to use up leftover chicken. The combination of chicken, garlic, and sour cream is delicious and comforting. Serve it over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
