CHICKEN BACON RANCH SALAD
I always seem to have leftover cooked chicken. This simple, tasty salad is a great use of your leftover chicken, either white meat, dark meat, or a combination! Romaine lettuce, cooked chicken, avocado, and cherry tomatoes combine with ranch dressing, and everything is topped off with crunchy bacon. Use purchased ranch salad dressing, or stir up one of the buttermilk dressing recipes on the site. Enjoy for a hearty lunch with some crackers, or for dinner, with a crusty bread. This recipe is proportioned for one person, but it's easy to double or triple for your needs.

Tips:
- Choose the right chicken. For best results, use cooked chicken that is moist and flavorful. Rotisserie chicken is a great option, but you can also use leftover chicken from a roasted or grilled chicken.
- Don't overcook the chicken. Overcooked chicken will be dry and tough. Cook the chicken just until it is cooked through, then remove it from the heat and let it cool.
- Use a variety of fruits and vegetables. The more variety, the more flavorful your chicken salad will be. Some good options include grapes, pineapple, mango, celery, and red onion.
- Add some nuts or seeds for crunch. Nuts and seeds add texture and flavor to chicken salad. Good options include almonds, walnuts, pecans, and sunflower seeds.
- Use a light dressing. A heavy dressing will weigh down the chicken salad and make it less refreshing. A simple vinaigrette or mayonnaise-based dressing is a good option.
- Season to taste. Be sure to taste the chicken salad before serving and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or herbs.
Conclusion:
Chicken salad is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed in many different ways. Whether you serve it on a sandwich, in a wrap, or on a bed of lettuce, chicken salad is sure to be a hit. With so many different variations to choose from, there's a chicken salad recipe out there for everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give chicken salad a try.
