ASIAN SPARERIBS

Asian Spareribs image

Yummy! This is my own creation and everybody just loves them!! I like to make these on the grill in the warm weather months. When I do that, I reserve about 1/2 the marinade BEFORE marinating the meat, and use the reserved marinade to brush the ribs with while grilling........or I'll just make 2 batches of marinade, and use the second batch just for brushing while grilling. Prep time does NOT include marinating time.

Time 55m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 lbs boneless pork spareribs
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/3 cup pineapple juice
1/3 cup light soy sauce

2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1/8 cup packed brown sugar
3 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
4 green onions, thinly sliced

CHICKEN SPARERIBS (ASIAN STYLE?)

Chicken Spareribs (Asian Style?) image

I got this recipe out of a TOH issue a couple years back. My two year old always calls it Chinese. This is very quick and very delicious. My kids just eat it up. I make it with rice (with added dried garlic, dried chives and garlic salt) with the extra sauce poured over it. Add any veggie to your liking. ** Sometimes I do need to double the cornstarch and water**

CHINESE SPARERIBS

Chinese Spareribs image

After searching the internet for a good Chinese Spareribs recipe and not finding any that caught my eye, I decided to make my own. This recipe is pretty simple, and yields tender, juicy, tangy ribs. In Japan, I cooked this in the fish broiler, but it should be fine on the grill or in the oven.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken spareribs: Look for spareribs that are meaty and have a good amount of fat. Avoid spareribs that are too bony or have a lot of gristle.
  • Marinate the spareribs: Marinating the spareribs in a flavorful marinade will help to tenderize them and infuse them with flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, such as a soy sauce-based marinade, a honey-garlic marinade, or a Korean barbecue marinade.
  • Cook the spareribs slowly: Chicken spareribs are a tough cut of meat, so they need to be cooked slowly in order to become tender. You can cook them in a slow cooker, in a Dutch oven, or on the grill.
  • Baste the spareribs: Basting the spareribs with the marinade or a barbecue sauce will help to keep them moist and flavorful. Baste the spareribs every 20-30 minutes during cooking.
  • Serve the spareribs with your favorite sides: Chicken spareribs are a delicious main course that can be served with a variety of sides, such as rice, noodles, vegetables, or mashed potatoes.

Conclusion:

Chicken spareribs are a delicious and versatile cut of meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways. By following these tips, you can create tender, flavorful chicken spareribs that your family and friends will love.
