Tips:
- Choose the right peanuts: Use raw, unsalted peanuts for the best flavor. Dry-roasted peanuts can also be used, but they will have a slightly different flavor.
- Soak the peanuts overnight: Soaking the peanuts overnight will help to soften them and make them easier to cook. If you don't have time to soak them overnight, you can boil them for 1 hour instead.
- Use a slow cooker: A slow cooker is the best way to make this soup because it allows the peanuts to cook slowly and evenly. You can also make the soup in a pot on the stovetop, but you will need to stir it frequently to prevent the peanuts from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- Add sugar to taste: The amount of sugar you add to the soup will depend on your personal preference. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
- Garnish with chopped peanuts and cilantro: Chopped peanuts and cilantro add a nice flavor and texture to the soup. You can also garnish the soup with a drizzle of sesame oil.
Conclusion:
Chinese sweet peanut soup is a delicious and easy-to-make soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is also a good source of protein and fiber. If you are looking for a new soup to try, I highly recommend this one.
