Time 50m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (9 inch) chocolate crumb crusts
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup water
3 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares
1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 dash salt
1 cup pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Meanwhile, combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl.
  • In saucepan, melt chocolate and condensed milk over low heat, stirring occasionally. Add the cornstarch mixture, then the eggs, butter, and salt. Stir until well-combined and smooth.
  • Remove from the heat and add pecans. Mix well and pour into crust.
  • Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean. Cool on a rack, then cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours.

Tips:

  • Always use good quality chocolate for the best flavor. A semisweet or bittersweet chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 60% is ideal.
  • Don't overcook the fudge filling. It should be cooked until it reaches a temperature of 235 degrees Fahrenheit (113 degrees Celsius). If you overcook it, it will become too thick and grainy.
  • Let the fudge filling cool completely before pouring it into the pie crust. This will help prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
  • If you don't have time to make the fudge filling from scratch, you can use a store-bought fudge sauce. Just be sure to heat it up before pouring it into the pie crust.
  • Top the pie with pecans before baking it. This will give the pie a delicious crunchy topping.
  • Serve the pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

This chocolate fudge pecan pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The creamy fudge filling, crunchy pecans, and flaky pie crust make this pie a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give this chocolate fudge pecan pie a try. You won't be disappointed!
