Steps:
- Stir together peanut butter and butter in a bowl with a wooden spoon. Add sugar; work into a smooth dough with your hands. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Using the palms of your hands, roll dough into 1 1/2-inch oblong "acorns" (you should have 36), flatten 1 end of each a bit with your fingertip, and place on a waxed paper-lined rimmed baking sheet. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, melt chocolate in a bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. Working with 1 acorn at a time, insert a toothpick into rounded tip, dip flat end into chocolate, then return to baking sheet. Remove toothpick, and insert a pretzel piece into the chocolate-dipped end of each acorn. Refrigerate until chocolate is set, about 2 hours.

Steps:
- Unwrap the Kisses and set aside. Arrange all the ingredients on a piece of parchment paper or directly on the counter top.
- Melt 1/4 cup peanut butter chips in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Stir the chips and microwave for 10-30 more seconds -- don't over cook. When assembling the acorns, I set the bowl of melted peanut butter chips in a larger bowl of very hot/boiling water so the chips stay melted.
- Assemble the acorns: Put a small dab of melted peanut butter on one side of a Nutter Butter Bite. Immediately "glue" a Kiss to the Nutter Butter Bite. Set aside, and continue gluing the rest of the Kisses. After a minute or two they will harden enough to add the acorn tops.
- Add the acorn tops: Put a tiny dab of melted peanut butter on the top of the acorn and top with a chocolate or peanut butter chip. Set aside to harden.

Tips:
- Prep your chocolate wafers: If your chocolate wafers are not already finely crushed, place them in a food processor or blender and pulse until they resemble fine crumbs.
- Don't over-mix: When combining the peanut butter and powdered sugar mixture with the melted chocolate, mix until just combined. Over-mixing can cause the chocolate to seize.
- Chill before shaping: After combining the peanut butter mixture and melted chocolate, chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This will make it easier to shape the mixture into acorns.
- Use a variety of toppings: Feel free to get creative with your toppings! Some popular options include chopped peanuts, chocolate chips, candy sprinkles, and mini M&Ms.
- Store properly: Store the finished chocolate peanut butter acorns in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Conclusion:
These chocolate peanut butter acorns are a delicious and festive treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make, and they can be customized with your favorite toppings. So next time you are looking for a sweet snack, give these chocolate peanut butter acorns a try!
