JALAPENO CRANBERRY JELLY (CHRISTMAS JELLY)

Jalapeno Cranberry Jelly (Christmas Jelly) image

This is one that will have your tastebuds begging for more. Note: When cutting hot peppers, disposable gloves are recommended and avoid touching your face. I saw the cutest idea. Place one very small whole pepper or one whole cranberry in each sterilized half-pint jar pouring over the liquid jelly and processing as recommended. This recipe halves easily. Also, I used cranberry juice cocktail in place of pure cranberry juice.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of peppers to create a complex flavor. Some good options include red bell peppers, jalapeños, and habaneros.
  • Roast the peppers before making the jelly. This will help to caramelize the sugars and give the jelly a richer flavor.
  • Use fresh fruit juice instead of water. This will give the jelly a brighter flavor.
  • Add a little bit of pectin to the jelly. This will help it to set properly.
  • Sterilize your jars and lids before canning the jelly. This will help to prevent spoilage.

Conclusion:

Christmas pepper jelly is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be enjoyed on crackers or bread, added to sandwiches or wraps, or used as a glaze for meat or fish. It also makes a great gift for friends and family.
