Tips:

  • Use rolled oats, not instant oats. Rolled oats will give your cookies a chewier texture. Instant oats will make your cookies more cake-like and crumbly.
  • Toast your oats before using them. Toasting the oats will enhance their flavor and make them more crispy.
  • Use a combination of brown sugar and white sugar. Brown sugar will give your cookies a richer flavor and a slightly chewy texture. White sugar will help to keep your cookies crispy.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing the dough will make your cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking. Chilling the dough will help to prevent the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies at a high temperature. Baking the cookies at a high temperature will help to create a crispy exterior and a chewy interior.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving. This will help to prevent the cookies from falling apart.
