The cheerful addition of potato chips celebrates relaxed summer lunches - and tastes great any time of year. Ciabatta rolls and classic salted chips are especially good here, but you can use your favorite loaves and chips, or skip the bread and just serve the tuna salad with chips for scooping.

Tips for Making the Best Tuna Salad Sandwich:

  • Use high-quality tuna: Opt for tuna that is sustainably caught and packed in water or olive oil. Avoid tuna packed in oil, as it can be high in unhealthy fats.
  • Choose the right bread: A sturdy bread, such as a hearty whole grain or sourdough, will hold up well to the tuna salad. Avoid using soft, delicate breads, as they can become soggy.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins: Some popular mix-ins for tuna salad include celery, red onion, hard-boiled eggs, and dill. You can also add other ingredients, such as chopped nuts, dried fruit, or shredded cheese.
  • Use a light hand with the mayonnaise: Too much mayonnaise can make the tuna salad heavy and greasy. Start with a small amount and add more as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Season to taste: Be sure to season the tuna salad with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other seasonings, such as lemon juice, Dijon mustard, or herbs.

Conclusion:

The tuna salad sandwich is a classic for a reason. It's a delicious, versatile, and easy-to-make lunch or dinner option. With a few simple tips, you can make the best tuna salad sandwich that you'll ever taste. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give the tuna salad sandwich a try.
