I know this sounds odd, but give it a try. It's really delicious. The ingredient field on this website would not allow me to type in 1 original version Ricola cough drop (it does not recognize it on their food lists). Dissolve it in the coffee.

Time 2h15m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 tablespoons raisins
3 tablespoons rum (or brandy)
50 g golden caster sugar
6 tablespoons strong black coffee
250 g ricotta cheese
142 ml double cream
50 g dark chocolate, grated
icing sugar, for dusting

Steps:

  • In small bowl, mix together raisins, rum, sugar and 4 tablespoons of the coffee. Stir well and leave to sit for 1 hour.
  • Lightly beat ricotta to soften. Gradually beat in raisin mixture.
  • Whip the cream into soft peaks and fold into the ricotta with half of the chocolate.
  • Spoon into four glasses or serving dishes, drizzle over the remaining coffee and sprinkle with remaining chocolate.
  • Chill at least one hour and up to 4 hours. Dust lightly with icing sugar before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality coffee beans: The better the coffee beans, the better the final product will be. Look for beans that are freshly roasted and have a rich, complex flavor.
  • Grind your coffee beans just before brewing: Grinding your coffee beans just before brewing will help to preserve their flavor and aroma. If you don't have a coffee grinder, you can purchase pre-ground coffee, but be sure to use it within a week or two of purchase.
  • Use filtered or spring water: The quality of your water can also affect the taste of your coffee. If you have access to filtered or spring water, use that instead of tap water.
  • Brew your coffee at the right temperature: The ideal brewing temperature for coffee is between 195 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit. If the water is too hot, it will extract too much bitterness from the coffee beans. If the water is too cold, it will not extract enough flavor.
  • Use the right amount of coffee: The amount of coffee you use will depend on your personal preference. A good starting point is to use 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of water.
  • Let your coffee steep for the right amount of time: The steeping time will also depend on your personal preference. A good starting point is to steep your coffee for 4 minutes. If you like a stronger cup of coffee, you can steep it for longer. If you like a weaker cup of coffee, you can steep it for less time.
  • Add Ricolà: To make your coffee minty and refreshing, add one or two Ricolà candies to your cup before brewing. You can also add a splash of milk or cream, if desired.

Conclusion:

Coffee and Ricolà is a delicious and refreshing combination that is perfect for any time of day. By following these tips, you can make the perfect cup of coffee and Ricolà at home. So next time you're looking for a pick-me-up, try a cup of coffee and Ricolà. You won't be disappointed.
