Tips:

  • Choose a high-quality prime rib roast. Look for a roast that is well-marbled with fat, as this will help to keep the meat moist and flavorful during cooking.
  • Allow the roast to come to room temperature before cooking. This will help to ensure that the meat cooks evenly throughout.
  • Season the roast generously with salt and pepper. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika, to taste.
  • Make sure the coffee grounds are finely ground. This will help them to adhere to the roast better.
  • Press the coffee grounds into the roast firmly. This will help to create a nice crust on the meat.
  • Cook the roast in a preheated oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the heat to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and continue to cook for about 2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the roast reaches 135 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare.
  • Let the roast rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Conclusion:

Coffee-crusted prime rib is a delicious and impressive dish that is perfect for a special occasion. The coffee crust adds a unique flavor and aroma to the meat, and the roasting process helps to create a tender and juicy interior. With a little planning and preparation, you can easily make this restaurant-quality dish at home.
