Complete Steak, Pork Chop, or Chicken Dinner in CrockPot Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by mikeimmell

Number Of Ingredients 11

4 - 3/4 inch steaks, OR 4 - 3/4 inch thick pork chops, OR
4 lg. skinless chicken breasts.
Note: You can use chicken with the bone in or bonesless,
it's your choice. I like the bone in better because it tends
to give the chicken a better flavor after it has cooked.
1/2 cup A1 or Heinz 57 sauce
Note: If you are using the chicken breast you can substitute
1/2 cup of your favorite bottled BBQ sauce in place of the A1
or Heinz 57 sauce.
4 lg russet baking size potatoes
8 small frozen corn cobs

Steps:

  • Prepare your crockpot by first coating the pot with a light coat of cooking spray. Place the meat on the bottom of the crockpot. Pour a 1/2 cup A1, Heinz 57, sauce or the bottled BBQ sauce over the meat and then cover the meat with a layer of foil. Now place the foil wrapped potatoes and foil wrapped frozen corn cobs on top of the steaks. Cook on low for 6 hours

Sprinkle to cover with steak seasoning of your choice Pour ½ to ¾ cup steak sauce over steaks (I used almost a full bottle of Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce) Take a sheet of foil and top over the steaks Spritz the top with either cooking oil or Pam Place a layer of red potatoes on the foil and sprinkle sea salt over Add another layer of foil and cover the potatoes tightly to form a seal (this will allow the potatoes to steam Take 4 ears of corn and add butter, salt and pepper and roll tightly in aluminum foil. Place the ears of corn on top of the foil and then place the lid on tight. Do not open the lid. Cook for 6-7 hours on low - See more at: http://www.stockpilingmoms.com/2013/10/complete-steak-dinner-in-a-crockpot/#_a5y_p=1529835

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of meat: For steak, choose a tender cut like sirloin or ribeye. For pork, choose a loin roast or tenderloin. For chicken, choose boneless, skinless breasts or thighs.
  • Brown the meat before slow cooking: This will help to develop flavor and create a nice crust on the meat.
  • Use a variety of seasonings: Don't be afraid to experiment with different herbs, spices, and sauces. Common seasonings for steak include garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Common seasonings for pork include sage, fennel, and cumin. Common seasonings for chicken include paprika, oregano, and chili powder.
  • Add moisture to the crock pot: This will help to prevent the meat from drying out. You can add water, broth, or even tomato sauce.
  • Cook the meat on low for 6-8 hours: This will allow the meat to become tender and fall apart easily.
  • Serve the meat with your favorite sides: Mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and salad are all great options.

Conclusion:

Cooking a complete dinner in a crock pot is a great way to save time and energy. With a little planning, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal on the table with minimal effort. So next time you're short on time, give one of these recipes a try.
