- First, make the simple syrup by boiling the water and sugar. I usually boil them for about 15-20 minutes while stirring constantly. Allow this to cool to room temperature.
- Stir the wine, sweet vermouth, grenadine, cranberry juice and simple syrup together. Add a slice of orange to the glass to make it pretty. Then add a splash of 7-Up right before serving.

Tips:
- For the best flavor, use fresh fruit. If you don't have fresh fruit on hand, you can use frozen fruit that has been thawed.
- Red wine is the traditional base for sangria, but you can also use white wine or rosé.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of fruit and spices. Some popular additions to sangria include apples, oranges, lemons, limes, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
- Sangria is best served chilled. To chill your sangria quickly, place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- If you're making sangria for a party, you can make a large batch ahead of time. Sangria will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
