This is from reciperewards.com and is good for a lot of different meats. I decided to put the minimun eight hours for marinading in the prep time, because there is no cooking involved, just the putting together of the ingredients for the marinade.

Tips:

  • Use fresh limes for the best flavor. Limes that are too ripe or not ripe enough will not provide the same level of flavor.
  • If you don't have fresh limes, you can use bottled lime juice. However, fresh limes will always give you a better taste.
  • Be sure to taste the marinade before using it. You may need to adjust the seasonings to your liking.
  • The longer you marinate the meat, the more flavorful it will be. However, do not marinate the meat for more than 24 hours, or it could become tough.
  • When using a lime marinade, it is important to use a non-reactive bowl. This means using a bowl made of glass, ceramic, or stainless steel. Do not use a bowl made of aluminum or iron, as these metals can react with the acid in the lime juice and cause the marinade to turn bitter.

Conclusion:

A Costa Rican lime marinade is a delicious and easy way to add flavor to your favorite meats. Whether you're grilling, roasting, or baking, a lime marinade will help to tenderize the meat and give it a bright, citrusy flavor. So next time you're looking for a new way to prepare your favorite protein, give a Costa Rican lime marinade a try.
