This has been a 'trade secret' for years, but it's so good I decided to share it! It's everyone's favorite, and can even be poured over a block of cream cheese and served with crackers for a fun holiday appetizer.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
1 orange, peeled and pureed
1 apple - peeled, cored and diced
1 pear - peeled, cored and diced
1 cup chopped dried mixed fruit
1 cup chopped pecans
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, boil water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Reduce the heat to simmer, and stir in cranberries, pureed orange, apple, pear, dried fruit, pecans, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cover, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst. Remove from heat, and let cool to room temperature.

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 (12 ounce) package ocean spray cranberries
1 orange, peeled and pureed (plus I like some zest)
1 apple, peeled and diced
1 pear, peeled and diced
1 cup dried mixed fruit
1 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • Boil the water and sugar in a medium saucepan until dissolved.
  • Reduce heat.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer (with the lid on) for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature before serving or storing.

1 cup white sugar
1 (12 ounce) bag fresh cranberries
1 apple, peeled & diced
1 pear, peeled & diced
1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (I like mine freshly ground)

Steps:

  • Put water and sugar in a medium pot and bring to a boil, dissolving sugar.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and bring back to a boil.
  • Cover, turn heat to low, and simmer for 30 minutes or until cranberries pop.
