Steps:
- Start by preheating your oven to 400°F and lightly spraying a 9×13 casserole dish with non-stick spray.
- Next, prepare the stove top stuffing mix as directed on the box by combining hot water and stuffing in a bowl and microwaving on high for 5-6 minutes. If desired, you can also add in 2-4 tbsp of butter, but I typically do not add butter and it is still super delicious and flavorful. Set the mixture in the microwave to steam while preparing your other ingredients.
- Place 2 cups of cooked, shredded chicken in an even layer in the casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and Mrs Dash Onion & Herb Seasoning.
- Next, combine the two cans of cream of chicken soup and milk in a bowl and pour evenly over the shredded chicken.
- Top with the prepared stuffing mix, cover with aluminum foil, and bake in the oven for 20 minutes covered, and 10 minutes uncovered.
- Once fully baked, remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes on a wire cooling rack before serving.

Tips:
- Mise en place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients prepped and measured out. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
- Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients you use, the better your casserole will taste. Look for fresh, flavorful chicken, vegetables, and stuffing mix.
- Season your chicken well: Don't be afraid to season your chicken generously with salt, pepper, and other spices. This will help it develop a delicious flavor throughout the cooking process.
- Cook the chicken until it's cooked through: Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit before serving.
- Don't overcook the stuffing: The stuffing should be cooked through, but not dry. Keep an eye on it while it's cooking and remove it from the oven as soon as it's done.
- Use a creamy sauce: A creamy sauce will help to bind all of the ingredients together and create a rich, flavorful casserole. You can use a store-bought sauce or make your own.
- Top the casserole with cheese: Cheese is a classic topping for chicken and stuffing casserole. It adds a delicious flavor and a golden brown crust.
- Let the casserole rest before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld together and the casserole to set. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before cutting into it.
Conclusion:
Creamy chicken and stove-top stuffing casserole is a delicious and comforting dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. With a few simple tips, you can create a casserole that your family and friends will love.
