CREAMY PASTA WITH BACON

Creamy Pasta with Bacon image

I have to admit whenever I first saw this I was skeptical...but after one bite, I was hooked. It has a flavor that I didn't expect, especially after hearing the ingredients. I don't know where it originally came from as I got this recipe from my mom. Unsure of serving amount...makes quite a bit though.

Time 1h5m

Yield 6-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (16 ounce) package bow tie pasta
1 lb bacon
2 tablespoons bacon grease
1/2 cup chopped mushroom
2 cloves minced garlic
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 cups whipping cream (NOT whipped cream)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup sliced green onion

Steps:

  • Cook pasta and drain.

  • Saute mushrooms, garlic, and green onions in bacon grease.
  • Add pasta, parmesan, bacon pieces, whipping cream, and black pepper to sauted mushroom mixture.
  • Simmer until slightly thickened.
  • Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use good quality bacon: The quality of the bacon you use will make a big difference in the flavor of the dish. Look for bacon that is thick-cut and has a good amount of marbling.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy: This will help to render out the fat and give the bacon a nice smoky flavor.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed pot: This will help to prevent the sauce from scorching.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese: This will give the sauce a richer flavor.
  • Season the sauce to taste: Be sure to taste the sauce before serving and adjust the seasonings as needed.
  • Serve the pasta immediately: This dish is best enjoyed fresh out of the pot.

Conclusion:

Creamy fettuccine with bacon is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
