Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork. Pork shoulder, pork butt, and pork loin are all good choices for this recipe. Pork shoulder is the most flavorful cut, but it also takes the longest to cook. Pork butt is a good compromise between flavor and cooking time. Pork loin is the leanest cut, but it can be dry if it is not cooked properly.
  • Brown the pork before cooking it in the crock pot. This will help to develop flavor and prevent the pork from becoming dry.
  • Use a good quality sauerkraut. Fresh sauerkraut is best, but canned sauerkraut can also be used. If you are using canned sauerkraut, be sure to rinse it well before using.
  • Add some caraway seeds to the sauerkraut. This will help to give the dish a traditional Bavarian flavor.
  • Serve the sauerkraut with boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, or dumplings.

Conclusion:

Crock Pot Bavarian Sauerkraut Dinner is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cold winter night.
