Time 6h20m

Number Of Ingredients 15

3 lb country style pork ribs
garlic seasoning
everglades seasoning
1 c ketchup
1 Tbsp brown sugar
4 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
2 tsp low sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce, your choice (I used Texas Pete)
1 1/2 strips of cooked bacon, chopped
dash of salt and some freshly ground pepper
mesquite liquid smoke

Steps:

  • 1. Ribs: Sprinkle both sides with the garlic powder and Everglades seasoning. Place a paper towel over top and allow to rest while you make the sauce.
  • 2. Sauce: Place all ingredients, except chopped bacon and the liquid smoke, in a saucepan. Mix well and heat stirring occasionally. Do not allow to burn. Once it begins to come to a soft boil, remove from heat, stir in bacon bits. Place the sauce in a bowl or glass measuring cup and cover with Saran Wrap. Set aside. (Do not refrigerate)
  • 3. Spray your Crock Pot with cooking spray. Place ribs in and sprinkle with the mesquite liquid smoke. I used a cap full. Cook on low for 4 1/2 hours.
  • 4. Check meat after the 4 1/2 hours. Should be a little pink. Drain the liquid and cover the ribs with the BBQ sauce and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • 5. My Crock Pot cooks a little hotter than normal so you may have to adjust your times or cook until a meat thermometer reads 145°. I must add that your house is going to smell so yummy while this is cooking. Enjoy.

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 lbs country-style pork ribs (western style work too)
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup applesauce
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Mix everything in your crock pot and cook on low 6-8 hours.

Tips:

  • Choosing the Right Ribs: Select high-quality pork ribs, preferably baby back or spare ribs. Look for ribs with good marbling, as this indicates tenderness.
  • Preparing the Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to ensure a tender texture. Trim any excess fat, but leave some to add flavor.
  • Creating the Marinade: Use a flavorful marinade made with country maple seasoning, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. This combination adds a sweet, tangy, and savory flavor profile to the ribs.
  • Marinating Time: Allow the ribs to marinate for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to penetrate the meat and tenderize it.
  • Slow Cooking Process: Cook the ribs in a slow cooker on low heat for 8-10 hours or until fall-off-the-bone tender. This low and slow cooking method ensures that the ribs are cooked evenly and remain juicy.
  • Adding Maple Syrup: During the last 30 minutes of cooking, baste the ribs with maple syrup to enhance their sweetness and caramelize the surface.

Conclusion:

With its sweet, tangy, and savory flavor profile, these Crock Pot Country Maple Ribs are sure to be a hit at any gathering. The slow cooking process results in fall-off-the-bone tender ribs that are infused with maple flavor. Whether you're hosting a backyard barbecue or a cozy dinner party, these ribs are a delicious and effortless dish that will impress your guests. Remember to use high-quality ingredients, allow ample time for marinating, and cook the ribs low and slow for the best results. So, fire up your slow cooker and let these ribs become the star of your next meal!
