Time 6h20m

Number Of Ingredients 15

3 lb country style pork ribs
garlic seasoning
everglades seasoning
1 c ketchup
1 Tbsp brown sugar
4 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
2 tsp low sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce, your choice (I used Texas Pete)
1 1/2 strips of cooked bacon, chopped
dash of salt and some freshly ground pepper
mesquite liquid smoke

Steps:

  • 1. Ribs: Sprinkle both sides with the garlic powder and Everglades seasoning. Place a paper towel over top and allow to rest while you make the sauce.
  • 2. Sauce: Place all ingredients, except chopped bacon and the liquid smoke, in a saucepan. Mix well and heat stirring occasionally. Do not allow to burn. Once it begins to come to a soft boil, remove from heat, stir in bacon bits. Place the sauce in a bowl or glass measuring cup and cover with Saran Wrap. Set aside. (Do not refrigerate)
  • 3. Spray your Crock Pot with cooking spray. Place ribs in and sprinkle with the mesquite liquid smoke. I used a cap full. Cook on low for 4 1/2 hours.
  • 4. Check meat after the 4 1/2 hours. Should be a little pink. Drain the liquid and cover the ribs with the BBQ sauce and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • 5. My Crock Pot cooks a little hotter than normal so you may have to adjust your times or cook until a meat thermometer reads 145°. I must add that your house is going to smell so yummy while this is cooking. Enjoy.

Time 9h1m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 tablespoon vermont maple syrup or 1 tablespoon canadian maple syrup
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 dash ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine ribs, maple syrup, soy sauce, minced onion, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, garlic powder and pepper in a slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of ribs: Country-style ribs are ideal for this recipe as they are meaty and flavorful. You can also use pork spare ribs or baby back ribs if you prefer.
  • Brown the ribs before cooking: Browning the ribs in a skillet or Dutch oven before adding them to the slow cooker helps to develop their flavor and create a delicious crust.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is key to infusing the ribs with flavor. Make sure to use a combination of sweet, savory, and tangy ingredients, such as maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar.
  • Cook the ribs on low and slow: The key to tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs is to cook them on low heat for a long period of time. This allows the connective tissue to break down and the meat to become incredibly tender.
  • Baste the ribs during cooking: Basting the ribs with the cooking liquid helps to keep them moist and flavorful. Use a brush to baste the ribs every 30 minutes or so.
  • Let the ribs rest before serving: Once the ribs are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes them easier to handle.

Conclusion:

This Crock-Pot Maple Country-Style Ribs recipe is an easy and delicious way to make fall-off-the-bone tender ribs. With just a few simple ingredients and a slow cooker, you can have a mouthwatering meal that the whole family will love. Serve the ribs with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or baked beans, for a complete and satisfying meal.
