Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan with non-stick cooking spray, set aside. In a large bowl, add eggs and beat, add turkey sausage, mushrooms, cheese, peppers and salt, stir until ingredients are well incorporated. Pour mixture into prepared pie pan. Bake for 30 - 40 minutes, or until eggs are cooked and set. Let cool 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Note: You can use a variety of veggies in place of the mushrooms such as; asparagus, spinach, zucchini etc. You can use cooked, crumbled turkey bacon in place of the turkey sausage, you can also layer thinly sliced tomatoes, or chopped sun-dried tomatoes on top of the quiche before baking.
Tips:
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your quiche will taste. This is especially important for the eggs, cheese, and vegetables.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the quiche tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the quiche in a water bath: This will help prevent the quiche from cracking and will also help it cook evenly.
- Let the quiche cool before serving: This will help the quiche set and will also make it easier to slice.
Conclusion:
Crustless turkey sausage, cheese, and mushroom quiche is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is also a great way to use up leftover turkey sausage and vegetables. With its simple ingredients and minimal prep time, this quiche is a great option for busy weeknights or weekend brunches. Serve it with a side salad or fruit for a complete meal.
