½ cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
⅛ teaspoon dried basil
⅛ teaspoon dried thyme
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, halved lengthwise

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • In a small bowl, mix butter, garlic salt, rosemary, basil, thyme, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese.
  • Spread each half of the French bread with equal portions of the butter mixture. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  • Place bread halves, crusts down, on a medium baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are very lightly browned.

1 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg, beaten
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
Butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add 2 cups flour, 1/4 cup butter, egg, sugar, salt and seasonings. Beat at low speed until mixed, about 30 seconds; increase speed to medium and continue beating for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour and 1/3 cup cheese; beat until smooth. , Cover bowl and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Stir batter 25 strokes. Spread batter into a greased 1-1/2-qt. casserole; brush with melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary
6 tablespoons olive oil (preferably extra-virgin)
1 1/4 cups grated Parmesan cheese (about 3 1/2 ounces)
5 large garlic cloves, minced
1 baguette, halved lengthwise, then crosswise (4 pieces total), each piece diagonally scored 3/4 inch deep at 1 1/2-inch intervals

Steps:

  • Blend butter and rosemary in processor. Gradually add oil and process until incorporated. Mix in Parmesan cheese. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate. 2 teaspoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh thyme or 2 teaspoons dried thyme, chopped
2 teaspoons fresh marjoram or 3/4 teaspoon dried marjoram, chopped
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
2 (4 ounce) Italian bread or 2 (4 ounce) French bread

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a small bowl, combine the garlic and oil, mix well.
  • In another bowl, combine parsley, thyme, marjoram and paprika.
  • Add Parmesan; mix well.
  • Cut each loaf crosswise into diagonal slices, without cutting all the way through.

6 to 7 cups all-purpose flour
2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2-1/4 cups water
3/4 cup butter, softened, divided
FILLING:
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons minced chives
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried savory
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Cornmeal

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt. In a small saucepan, heat the water and 1/4 cup butter to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Roll each piece into a 18x15-in. rectangle.
