I found this recipe in a church cookbook. It looks like it would be a winner for a camping trip. Just make sure to take a large group of campers with you or be the camp cook.

25 lbs stew meat
10 lbs onions, rough chopp
10 lbs potatoes, quartered
1 (2 ounce) can red peppers
1 gallon tomato juice
salt and pepper
3 gallons tomatoes
4 gallons mixed vegetables
4 gallons creamed corn
2 (2 ounce) cans garlic
3 gallons water
1 quart cooking sherry

Steps:

  • Mix stew meat, onions, tomatoes, tomato juice, water and red pepper in a 25 gallon pot. Cook until almost done; add potatoes, mixed vegetables, garlic, salt, pepper and cooking sherry. Cook until done, stirring frequently to keep from sticking. Add the corn and turn the fire to simmer. Stir good.Cook for 10 minutes and turn the fire out. This is 25 gallons of the best stew you will ever eat !

1 medium onions, chopped
2 (19 ounce) cans minestrone soup
1 (14.5 ounce) can pinto beans with jalapeno peppers
2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes and green chiles
garlic powder to taste
seasoned salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onions until beef is evenly brown and onions are tender. Drain grease.
  • In a pot, mix the beef and onions, minestrone soup, pinto beans with jalapeno peppers, and diced tomatoes and green chiles. Season with garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer 1 hour.

My sister does not eat stew meat. My Daddy came up with this recipe so that she could enjoy stew.

3 pound(s) ground round
2 can(s) sliced potatoes, drained
1 can(s) veg-all, drained
3 tablespoon(s) season all
3 can(s) tomato sauce
2 tablespoon(s) dried onion
- serve with crackers or cornbread.

Steps:

  • Put Ground Round in large stew pot. Cover 2 inches over Ground Round with cold water. Begin to cook Ground Round. Add Season All and Onions. Let Ground Round boil about 30 minutes until well done.
  • Add 2 cans drained sliced potatoes. Cook until potatoes are well done and can be cut with a fork.
  • Add Veg All, drained to stew mixture. Let Veg All Cook until well done. Add Tomato Sauce. Cook until well done.

4 russet potatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 tablespoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 garlic cloves, minced (to taste) or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoning salt (to taste)
saltine crackers

Steps:

  • Cube potatoes, chop onions, and add to boiling water.
