AWESOME APPLE BREAD

Awesome Apple Bread image

This bread is so moist and flavorful that my kids even eat the ends, which for most quick breads I usually have to throw away. At Christmas, I make the mini loaves and give as gifts to my neighbors. The oil can be replaced with 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce. Still flavorful but not quite as moist. If possible, don't skip the walnuts, they really add to it.

Time 3h10m

Tips:

  • Choose the best quality apples: Apples are the star of this bread, so it's important to use the best quality apples you can find. Look for apples that are crisp, juicy, and have a good balance of sweetness and tartness. Some good apple varieties for apple bread include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady.
  • Peel and core your apples: Before adding the apples to your bread batter, be sure to peel and core them. This will help to remove any unwanted bits of skin or seeds from the apples.
  • Use fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice helps to brighten the flavor of the bread and prevent the apples from browning. Be sure to use fresh lemon juice, as bottled lemon juice can have a bitter taste.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough, dense bread. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bread at the right temperature: The ideal temperature for baking apple bread is 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If you bake the bread at a higher temperature, it may brown too quickly on the outside before the inside is cooked through.
  • Let the bread cool before serving: Once the bread is baked, let it cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help to prevent the bread from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Apple bread is a delicious and versatile bread that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. It's a great way to use up leftover apples, and it's also a perfect gift for friends and family. With its moist texture, sweet and tangy flavor, and warm aroma, apple bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
