SLOW COOKER BABY BACK RIBS

Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs image

These are the best I've had, short of the actual grilling method of course! This is a very simple recipe that I came up with a few years ago. It's not rocket science, just ribs cooked in the slow cooker and finished in the oven. This is what I do when I want ribs during the week and have to work all day. I'm eating them within a half-hour of getting home, and they turn out perfect every time!

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Baby back ribs are the most popular type of ribs used for barbecue, but you can also use spare ribs or country-style ribs.
  • Trim the ribs: Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs to help the sauce penetrate the meat.
  • Season the ribs: Rub the ribs with a mixture of spices and herbs before cooking to enhance the flavor.
  • Cook the ribs slowly: Low and slow cooking is the key to tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs.
  • Use a flavorful barbecue sauce: Choose a sauce that complements the flavor of the ribs and brush it on during the last hour of cooking.
  • Let the ribs rest before serving: Allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes before serving to let the juices redistribute.

Conclusion:

Cooking barbecue ribs in a crock pot is an easy and convenient way to enjoy this classic dish. With a little planning and preparation, you can create tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs that will be the star of your next party or gathering. So fire up your crock pot and get ready to enjoy some delicious barbecue ribs!
