Time 1h5m

Yield 12 muffins, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup yogurt
2/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F Line muffin cups (2-1/2 inches in diameter) with paper bake cups.
  • Stir together flour, granulated sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl; stir in yogurt, milk and vanilla just until combined. Do not beat. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full with batter.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack. Remove from pans. Sprinkle powdered sugar over tops of muffins, if desired. Serve warm.
  • Store, covered, at room temperature or freeze in airtight container for longer storage.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. The better the chocolate, the better the muffins will taste. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in dense, dry muffins. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Fill the muffin cups about 2/3 full. If you fill them too full, the muffins will overflow and make a mess.
  • Bake the muffins at a high temperature for a short period of time. This will help them rise and create a tender crumb.
  • Let the muffins cool completely before frosting them. If you frost them while they're still warm, the frosting will melt and become runny.

    Conclusion:

These dense chocolate muffins are the perfect treat for any chocolate lover. They're moist, rich, and flavorful, and they're sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're in the mood for a chocolate fix, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
