Pretzels with a bite! This snack is shaken, not baked. Lemon pepper is the secret ingredient, and gives the spice marinade mixture a wonderful zest.

1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon lemon pepper
1 ½ teaspoons garlic salt
1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
¾ cup vegetable oil
1 ½ (15 ounce) packages mini pretzels

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together cayenne pepper, lemon pepper, garlic salt, ranch-style dressing mix and vegetable oil.
  • Place pretzels in a large, sealable plastic bag. Pour in mixture from bowl. Shake well. Allow pretzels to marinate in the mixture approximately 2 hours before serving. Shake occasionally to maintain coating.

3 cups pretzels
2 tbsp butter (melted)
4 tsp powdered buttermilk
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250°. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Measure out the pretzels into a large bowl.
  • Melt and pour the butter over the pretzels. Stir to coat evenly.
  • In a small bowl, combine the powdered buttermilk, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Stir the seasonings together.
  • Sprinkle the seasonings onto the pretzels while stirring to coat evenly.
  • Arrange on the prepared cookie sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake at 250° for 20 minutes. Allow the pretzels to cool before eating.

Dot's Honey Mustard Pretzels image

1 bag pretzels (16 oz, butter waffle style used)
1/2 c butter (salted)
3 tbsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp dry mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1.5 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp salt (taste, add more salt when done if desired)
3/4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp white vinegar

Steps:

  • Preheat smoker or oven to 250 degrees F. Melt butter in the microwave, then add honey to that bowl and microwave again for 30 seconds or until warmed. Add all other ingredients into that bowl and whisk together.
  • Pour pretzels into a bowl and pour this mixture on top. Toss together until nicely coated. Pour on to a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread out as much as possible so they overlap the least.
  • Lay on grate in smoker or on middle shelf in oven and cook for 30 minutes. Move them around halfway thru with a spatula to rotate. Take out, cool, taste and add salt if desired and enjoy.
