Steps:
- Bring Dr. Pepper, sugar, orange juice, and mustard to boil in medium saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until mixture is syrupy and measures 3/4 cup, about 10 minutes. (Glaze can be refrigerated for several days; reheat when needed.).
- Remove ham from packaging and discard plastic disk that covers bone. Place ham in plastic oven bag, tie bag shut. Set ham cut side down in 13 by 9-inch baking dish and cut 4 slits in top of bag. Let stand at room temperature for 1 1/2 hours.
- Heat oven to 250 degrees. Bake ham until center registers about 100 degrees on instant-read thermometer, 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours (about 14 minutes per pound) , depending on weight of ham.
- Remove ham from oven and roll back sides of bag to expose ham. Brush ham liberally with glaze and return to oven briefly until glaze becomes sticky, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven, brush entire ham again with glaze, loosely cover with foil, and let rest for 30 to 40 minutes before carving.

Steps:
- Remove the ham from the packaging and discard the plastic disk that covers the bone. Place the ham in the plastic oven bag, tie the bag shut, and trim the excess plastic. Set the ham, cut-side down, in a roasting pan or 13-by 9-inch baking dish and cut 4 slits in the top of the bag. (Alternatively, if you don't have an oven bag, place the ham, cut-side down, in the roasting pan or baking dish and wrap the ham and pan tightly with foil.) Let the ham rest at room temperature for 1 1/2 hours. Adjust an oven rack to the lowest position and heat the oven to 250°F. Bake the ham until the center registers 100°F on an instant-read thermometer, 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours, depending on the size of the ham. (Figure about 14 minutes per pound if using a plastic oven bag, about 17 minutes per pound if using foil.) While the ham bakes, bring the sugar, Dr. Pepper, orange juice, and mustard to a simmer in a medium saucepan and cook until syrupy and reduced to 3/4 cup, about 8 minutes. Remove the ham from the oven and roll back the sides of the bag or the foil to expose the meat. Carefully tip out the juices that have collected in the pan into your sink. Brush the ham liberally with the Dr Pepper glaze and return it to the oven, uncovered, until the glaze becomes sticky, about 30 minutes. (Check the ham occasionally and if it appears to be browning too much, tent it with a piece of foil.) Remove the ham from the oven and brush it again with the Dr Pepper glaze. Tent the ham loosely with foil and let it rest for 30 to 40 minutes before slicing and serving.
#1 EASIEST DR. PEPPER HAM GLAZE EVER!
I've been making this glaze for years. It has 3 ingredients and can't be any easier to make. You can use Coke if you want, but I was told because of the higher content of sugar, that the Dr. Pepper is best. Either way, it is easy & really good!

Tips:
- Choose the Right Ham: For the best results, select a fully cooked ham with a bone-in or boneless option. The bone adds flavor, but boneless hams are easier to carve.
- Use a Flavorful Glaze: The glaze is what gives the ham its signature taste. You can use a store-bought glaze or make your own using ingredients like brown sugar, honey, mustard, and spices.
- Score the Ham: Before glazing the ham, score the surface with a sharp knife to help the glaze penetrate the meat and distribute the flavor evenly.
- Preheat the Ham: Before glazing and baking the ham, preheat it in the oven to ensure even cooking.
- Glaze the Ham: Brush the glaze onto the ham, making sure to cover it evenly. You may need to apply multiple layers of glaze during the baking process.
- Bake the Ham: Bake the ham according to the recipe instructions, basting it with the glaze occasionally to keep it moist and flavorful.
- Let the Ham Rest: After baking, let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
Conclusion:
Whether you choose a Dr. Pepper or cola glaze, these recipes are sure to deliver a moist, flavorful ham that will be the star of your holiday table. With just a few simple ingredients and steps, you can create a delicious glazed ham that will impress your family and friends. So next time you're planning a special occasion dinner, give one of these recipes a try and enjoy the compliments!
