Time 5h10m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 pork loin chops with bone (I get fairly thick chops so they don't dry out in the crock pot)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I like to use either canola or olive oil)
2 cups no-sugar-added ketchup (low carb)
1/2 cup packed splenda brown sugar substitute
1 teaspoon hickory-flavored liquid smoke (don't omit this!)

Steps:

  • Sprinkle pork chops with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, brown the pork chops in oil on both sides.
  • In a bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and liquid smoke.
  • Pour half of the sauce into the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Top with pork chops and remaining sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-1/4 to 5 hours or until meat is tender.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork chops. Bone-in chops are more flavorful, but they take longer to cook. Boneless chops are more tender, but they can dry out more easily.
  • Season the pork chops well. A simple salt and pepper rub is a good starting point, but you can also add other spices and herbs, such as garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or chili powder.
  • Sear the pork chops before cooking them in the crock pot. This will help to brown the chops and give them a nice crust.
  • Add plenty of liquid to the crock pot. The liquid will help to keep the pork chops moist and flavorful.
  • Cook the pork chops on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the pork chops.
  • Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the crock pot and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help to keep the juices in the chops.

Conclusion:

Crock pot pork chops are a delicious and easy way to cook pork chops. They are perfect for a busy weeknight meal, and they can be made with a variety of different ingredients. With a little planning, you can easily create a crock pot pork chop recipe that your whole family will love.
