Time 27m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons corn syrup
2 1/3 cups quick-cooking oats

Steps:

  • Grease and 8×8 pan. In a pan combine the butter, brown sugar, honey, and corn syrup. Stir constantly over medium heat until butter melts, sugar dissolves, and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and add oats. Stir well until oats are well coated. Spread mixture into 8×8 or similar pan. Bake at 350 for 22 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and cut into bars. Cool for about 1 hour more in the pan and then remove bars from the pan.
  • If you wait to cut and remove the bars from the pan until the pan is completely cooled, the bars will be very hard to remove.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of oats. Old-fashioned oats, quick-cooking oats, and steel-cut oats can all be used in granola. Each type of oat has a different texture, so using a combination of oats will give your granola a more complex flavor and texture.
  • Choose nuts and seeds that you like. Almonds, walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, and chia seeds are all popular choices for granola. You can also add dried fruit, chocolate chips, or other mix-ins to your granola.
  • Make sure your granola is evenly coated with oil and honey. This will help to prevent the granola from clumping together. You can use a large spoon or your hands to coat the granola.
  • Bake the granola at a low temperature for a long time. This will help to ensure that the granola is evenly browned and crispy.
  • Store the granola in an airtight container. Granola can be stored at room temperature for up to two weeks.

Conclusion:

Granola is a delicious and healthy snack that is easy to make at home. With a few simple ingredients and a little time, you can create a granola that is perfect for your taste. So next time you are looking for a healthy snack, try making your own granola. You won't be disappointed!
