SUPER EASY MACARONI SALAD

Super Easy Macaroni Salad image

This is great for someone with little time and money. I couldn't find anything this simple when I was looking so I thought I would add it. You can add or substitute many different things. My sister puts chopped sweet pickles. My grandma would put cucumber and canned crab meat and shrimp instead of ham.

Time 25m

Yield 5-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb elbow macaroni
4 -5 tablespoons dill pickles, minced
2 -3 tablespoons black olives, minced
2 -3 tablespoons green onions, chopped (to taste)
1 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise (add more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard (optional)
salt (to taste)
pepper (to taste)
1 -2 lb shredded cheddar cheese (to taste)

Steps:

  • Boil noodles like you normally would do. Until done. Drain the noodles. Put them in a large bowl and put in the fridge to cool. (Faster prep: Run them under cold water until cool then let sit so all of the water will drain).
  • Mince pickles and black olives. (Faster & easier prep: Buy dill pickle relish and already chopped black olives).
  • Chop green onions.
  • After noodles are cool add mayonnaise (more or less to taste) & mustard (optional) and mix together.
  • Add pickle, olives, & green onions and mix. (Can use more or less. I personally like a lot of pickles and little onion & olives).
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Put in the fridge to chill. (Sometimes you may need to add more mayo when ready to serve).
  • Add the cheese when you are serving. (I let everybody add as much as they want. Makes it fun for the kids).

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh vegetables, cooked pasta, and a flavorful dressing will make all the difference.
  • Don't overcook the pasta. It should be al dente, or slightly firm to the bite.
  • Let the pasta cool completely before adding the other ingredients. This will help prevent the salad from becoming watery.
  • Use a variety of vegetables and textures. This will make the salad more interesting and appealing.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different dressings. There are endless possibilities, so find one that you love.
  • Make sure the salad is well chilled before serving. This will help the flavors meld together and make the salad even more refreshing.

Conclusion:

Macaroni salad is a classic dish that is perfect for potlucks, picnics, and summer cookouts. It is easy to make, delicious, and can be customized to your liking. With so many different recipes to choose from, you are sure to find one that you love.
