Time 7h20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 slices bacon, sliced
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 cups potatoes, diced, peeled
20 ounces frozen whole kernel corn, broken apart
16 ounces cream-style corn
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup water

Steps:

  • In skillet or microwave, fry bacon until crisp; remove and reserve.
  • Add onion and potatoes to bacon drippings and saute' for about 5 minutes; drain well.
  • Combine all ingredients in Crock pot. Stir well.
  • Cover and cook on LOW setting for 6 - 7 hours.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: Fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices will give your chowder the best flavor. If you can, use organic or locally-sourced ingredients for the best results.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker: Make sure there is enough space for the ingredients to cook evenly. If the slow cooker is too full, the chowder will take longer to cook and may not cook evenly.
  • Cook the chowder on low heat for 6-8 hours: This will allow the flavors to develop and the vegetables to become tender. If you're short on time, you can cook the chowder on high heat for 3-4 hours, but be sure to check it frequently to make sure it doesn't overcook.
  • Season the chowder to taste: Once the chowder is cooked, taste it and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, herbs, or spices.
  • Serve the chowder hot: Potato and corn chowder is best served hot, so be sure to reheat it before serving if you've made it ahead of time.
