EASY PRALINES

EASY PRALINES image

I use this recipe when I want alot of something for an appetizer or a great snack and nibble food for the holidays and when friends come over for parties and watching the games. Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 lb. butter
1 1/3 cup sugar
1 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven 350 degrees. Break the graham crackers into 4 as they are scored. Place close together on 2 average sized cookie sheets with 1/2 inch lip. Don't keep them intact like they come because the sauce needs to ooze between them but still put the crackers real close together on the sheet. In saucepan, stirring constantly, heat to boiling the butter and the sugar on medium to low heat. Boil 2 minutes. Pour evenly over graham crackers. Using spatula, lightly smooth the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake 10 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh pecans will give your pralines the best flavor. If you can't find fresh pecans, you can use roasted pecans, but they won't be as flavorful.
  • Don't overcook the pralines: The pralines are done when they reach a temperature of 235 degrees Fahrenheit. If you overcook them, they will be hard and brittle.
  • Be careful when handling the hot pralines: The pralines are very hot when they come out of the oven. Be careful not to burn yourself when you are handling them.
  • Let the pralines cool completely before storing them: The pralines need to cool completely before you store them. If you store them while they are still warm, they will be sticky and difficult to handle.
  • Store the pralines in an airtight container: The pralines can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Pralines are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a batch of pralines that will be enjoyed by everyone. Whether you are making them for a special occasion or just as a snack, pralines are sure to be a hit. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give pralines a try. You won't be disappointed!
