EASY STIR-FRIED CHICKEN AND VEGETABLES

Easy Stir-Fried Chicken and Vegetables image

This is a recipe that I made frequently on days that I had off from school and/ or work. I used it because it was quick and easy to prepare, cook, and enjoy. If prepared right, it is also good for people trying to watch their weight. I know it was for me. I came up with it just by finding what i had in my freezer and throwing it all together... The cooking time says 10 minutes, but i think it should take less than that. It should take in between 5 and 10 minutes. And for the vegetables, you can get single bags of frozen vegetables (I used broccoli stir-fry) in a grocery store near you.

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 15m

Yield 2 1/2 cups, 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups frozen vegetables
1 1/2 cups chicken (approximately 1 to 1 1/2 chicken thigh)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
salt (I didn't use salt and it tasted great) (optional)
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce, makes another great dish just add to this dish and fry for 1 to 2 more minutes to ensure the flavor

Steps:

  • Cut, cube, or slice chicken, while still frozen ( which was easier for me).
  • In a large frying pan heat olive oil on high for 1 minute (or until hot)
  • Add vegetables to pan, let fry, stiring occasionally to keep from burning.
  • Add chicken to pan
  • If you choose to add salt add now. If not then don't.
  • Stir all ingredients frequently to keep them from sticking.
  • Stir-Fry until chicken is cooked and vegetables are cooked crisp.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and prevent scrambling during the cooking process.
  • Use fresh, high-quality vegetables: The fresher your vegetables, the better they will taste. If possible, buy organic vegetables to avoid pesticides and herbicides.
  • Cut your vegetables evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If you are using different types of vegetables, cut them into similar-sized pieces.
  • Use a large wok or skillet: This will give you plenty of room to stir-fry your vegetables without overcrowding them.
  • Heat your wok or skillet over high heat: This will help to create a nice sear on your vegetables and prevent them from becoming soggy.
  • Add your vegetables to the wok or skillet in batches: This will prevent them from overcrowding and steaming instead of stir-frying.
  • Stir-fry your vegetables quickly: Stir-fried vegetables should be cooked quickly over high heat. This will help them retain their crispness and flavor.
  • Season your vegetables to taste: You can use a variety of seasonings to flavor your stir-fried vegetables, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger powder, and soy sauce.
  • Serve your stir-fried vegetables immediately: Stir-fried vegetables are best served hot and fresh. You can serve them as a side dish or main course.

Conclusion:

Stir-fried vegetables are a healthy, delicious, and versatile dish. They are quick and easy to make, and they can be customized to your liking. With a little practice, you can master the art of stir-frying and create delicious meals that the whole family will enjoy.
