EASY HAM AND CHEESE STROMBOLI
I had a lot of leftover deli ham after making Monte Cristo sandwiches and wanted to whip up something quick and easy. This was the result. Good thing my husband wasn't home as my 16 year old son and his girlfriend devoured the whole thing! My son also came up with varieties that he will try. He thinks turkey with pesto would be good. I think you can sub most any cheese, meat and vegetable. I might do thinly sliced flank steak and blue cheese next time.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 400.
- 2. Unroll pizza dough and spread it out a bit so it's not so thick and is a little wider but not too thin.
- 3. Spread the pizza sauce on the dough leaving 2 inches open on the one side, lengthwise.
- 4. Spread the mozzarella cheese all over and then the toppings over the cheese, spreading them in lines lengthwise from one end to the other. May have to overlap, that's fine. Then drizzle a tablespoon of the Italian dressing over the toppings.
- 5. Roll the one side with the toppings over to ending with the side that has the 2 inches with no sauce.
- 6. Lay, seam down, on a good sized baking sheet.
- 7. Brush the Italian dressing on top of the dough and cut slits diagonally in four places throughout the dough to vent.
- 8. Bake for 20 minutes keeping an eye on it so that it doesn't get to brown. Should be golden brown.
- 9. Take out and let sit for a couple of minutes. Slice into serving size pieces to your liking. Be careful as it is hot and bubbly. Enjoy with a ceasar salad.
Tips:
- For the best results, use a high-quality deli meat and cheese. This will make a big difference in the overall flavor of the stromboli.
- Be sure to slice the deli meat and cheese thinly. This will help it to cook evenly.
- If you are using a jarred sauce, be sure to drain it well before using. You don't want the stromboli to be too wet.
- Don't overfill the stromboli. It should be packed tightly, but not so tightly that it bursts open.
- Be sure to pinch the edges of the dough together firmly. This will help to keep the stromboli from leaking.
- Bake the stromboli until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the stromboli cool for a few minutes before slicing. This will help to keep the cheese from oozing out.
Conclusion:
Stromboli is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick and easy meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover deli meat and cheese. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a stromboli that is sure to please everyone at the table.
