Tips:

  • Use fresh trout: Fresh trout has a milder flavor and a more delicate texture than frozen trout. If you can, try to find wild-caught trout, as it will have a better flavor than farm-raised trout.
  • Don't overcook the trout: Trout is a delicate fish, so it's important not to overcook it. Cook the trout just until it is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This recipe calls for carrots, celery, and onion, but you can use any vegetables that you like. Some other good options include potatoes, corn, and peas.
  • Season the chowder well: Don't be afraid to season the chowder to taste. Salt, pepper, and garlic powder are all good options.
  • Serve the chowder with a side of crusty bread or crackers: This will help to soak up the delicious broth.
