Time 50m

Yield 35 brownies

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (14 ounce) package vanilla caramels, unwraped
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 package German chocolate cake mix (2-layer size)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semisweet chocolate morsel

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, add the caramels and 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk.
  • Cook and stir constantly over low heat until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth; keep warm.
  • In a big mixing bowl, add the cake mix, remaining sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
  • Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until well combined.
  • Add in pecans; stir to combine.
  • Press 3 cups dough onto the bottom of a greased 13x9 inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.
  • Take partially baked brownie from oven.
  • Drizzle caramel mixture over the top.
  • Sprinkle chocolate morsels over caramel.
  • Crumble remaining dough evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 15 more minutes (will puff while baking and fall during cooling).
  • Let cool in the pan on a wire rack.

Tips:

  • Precise Measurements: For consistent results, use a kitchen scale to measure ingredients. This ensures accuracy and prevents the brownies from becoming too dry or dense.
  • Quality Ingredients: Use high-quality chocolate, butter, and cocoa powder. This will greatly enhance the flavor and texture of your brownies.
  • Proper Mixing: Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, chewy texture. Mix only until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Baking Time: To achieve fudgy brownies, bake for a shorter amount of time. For a cakier texture, bake for a longer period. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the brownies. If it comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached, the brownies are ready.
  • Cooling and Cutting: Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting them. This prevents them from crumbling and ensures clean, neat slices.

Conclusion:

With careful attention to ingredients, mixing, baking time, and cooling, you can create delicious, indulgent brownies that will satisfy your sweet cravings. Experiment with different variations, such as adding nuts, chocolate chips, or spices, to find your perfect brownie recipe. Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't be afraid to experiment and adjust the recipe to suit your taste preferences. Indulge in the rich, chocolatey goodness of homemade brownies, and share the joy of baking with friends and family.
