Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 50m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1 lb ground chicken, skinless
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
15 ounces tomato sauce
4 cups water
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
8 ounces thin spaghetti, uncooked
1/2 cup fat-free cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a 12" skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chicken, onions, and bell peppers.
  • Cook until chicken is no longer pink and vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in water, tomato sauce and taco seasoning mix.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add the uncooked spaghetti.
  • Reduced heat covered and simmer until spaghetti is tender, about 25 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh vegetables, flavorful cheeses, and tender pasta will make a big difference in the final dish.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet: If you add too much food to the skillet, it will not cook evenly. Cook the ingredients in batches if necessary.
  • Season the dish well: Salt, pepper, and garlic powder are essential seasonings for this dish. You can also add other herbs and spices to taste.
  • Cook the pasta al dente: Al dente means "to the tooth" in Italian. This means that the pasta should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it.
  • Don't overcook the sauce: The sauce should be thick and creamy, but not too thick. If you overcook the sauce, it will become dry and clumpy.
  • Serve immediately: Fiesta Skillet Spaghetti is best served immediately after it is cooked. The pasta will start to absorb the sauce and become mushy if it sits for too long.

Conclusion:

Fiesta Skillet Spaghetti is a quick, easy, and delicious meal that is perfect for busy weeknights. It is also a great way to use up leftover chicken or beef. With its colorful vegetables, flavorful sauce, and tender pasta, Fiesta Skillet Spaghetti is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
