Tips:

  • Choose the right flank steak: Look for a flank steak that is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick and has a good amount of marbling. This will help ensure that the steak is tender and flavorful.
  • Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak in a flavorful marinade will help to tenderize it and add flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, but a simple one made with olive oil, garlic, and herbs is a good option.
  • Cook the steak over high heat: Flank steak should be cooked over high heat to quickly sear the outside and keep the inside tender. You can grill, pan-fry, or broil the steak.
  • Don't overcook the steak: Flank steak is a thin cut of meat, so it is important not to overcook it. Otherwise, it will become tough and chewy. Cook the steak to an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare or 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium.
  • Slice the steak against the grain: When you slice the steak, be sure to cut against the grain. This will make the steak more tender and easier to chew.

Conclusion:

Flank steak is a delicious and versatile cut of meat that can be prepared in a variety of ways. By following these tips, you can cook a flank steak that is tender, flavorful, and juicy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give flank steak a try.
