Yield Makes 8 individual corn puddings

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 ears fresh corn, shucked
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
3 large eggs, beaten lightly

Steps:

Tips:

  • Use fresh corn. Fresh corn has a sweeter, more flavorful taste than frozen or canned corn. If you can't find fresh corn, you can use frozen or canned corn, but be sure to drain it well before using.
  • Don't overcook the corn. Overcooked corn will be tough and chewy. Cook the corn just until it is tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add some flavorings. You can add a variety of flavorings to your corn pudding, such as salt, pepper, garlic, onion, cheese, or herbs. Be creative and experiment to find your favorite combination.
  • Serve corn pudding immediately. Corn pudding is best served immediately after it is made. However, you can also make it ahead of time and reheat it before serving.

Conclusion:

Corn pudding is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a side dish, appetizer, or main course. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like it simple or cheesy, sweet or savory, there is a corn pudding recipe out there for everyone.
