Tips:

- Choose fresh, young shell beans with plump, firm pods. Avoid beans that are wrinkled or have brown spots. - To easily remove the beans from the pods, blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then immediately transfer to an ice bath. The beans will slip right out of their skins. - If you don't have time to blanch the beans, you can also remove them from the pods by hand. Just pinch the seam of the pod and pull the beans out. - Be sure to cook the onions slowly over low heat until they are deeply caramelized. This will bring out their natural sweetness and flavor. - Add the sage leaves to the beans at the end of cooking, so they don't lose their flavor. - Serve the beans warm with crusty bread or rice.

Conclusion:

Fresh shell beans with caramelized onions and sage is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a summer meal. The beans are tender and flavorful, the onions are sweet and savory, and the sage adds a touch of herbaceousness. This dish is sure to please everyone at your table.
