GINGER CITRUS TEA

Ginger Citrus Tea image

I already had a recipe for extremely spicy ginger tea, but I was craving something a bit milder this time. So, I constructed a tea out of dried ginger pieces, dried orange peel and dried lemon peel. I've seen tons of recipes similar to this that require fresh lemon/orange juice/ginger but this recipe would be perfect for someone who only keeps the dried stuff on hand (like me!). P.S. - I've listed things as teaspoons, but technically it's in a ratio such that you can make whatever quantity you want.

LEMON-GINGER ICED TEA

Lemon-Ginger Iced Tea image

This Arnold Palmer has just a little kick to it because of the ginger. But it's so good! It's not intended to be a syrupy, sweet tea, so don't load it with sugar. Keep the taste of the ginger as the focal point.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ginger and citrus fruits provide the best flavor for this tea. If you don't have fresh ginger, you can use dried ginger, but use half the amount since it is more concentrated.
  • Peel the ginger thinly: This will help release the ginger's flavor and aroma into the tea.
  • Use a variety of citrus fruits: This will give the tea a more complex flavor. Some good options include oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits.
  • Adjust the amount of honey to taste: The amount of honey you add will depend on how sweet you like your tea. You can also use other sweeteners, such as sugar or maple syrup.
  • Let the tea steep for at least 5 minutes: This will give the flavors time to develop.
  • Serve the tea hot or iced: This tea can be enjoyed hot or iced. If you are serving it iced, let it cool completely before pouring it over ice.

Conclusion:

Ginger citrus tea is a refreshing and flavorful beverage that is perfect for any time of day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its many health benefits, ginger citrus tea is a great way to improve your overall well-being.
