GINGER- SOY VEGETABLE DIP

Ginger- Soy Vegetable Dip image

One of my mom's recipes - my sister and I used to request this as a snack all the time; actually, that used to be the only way I would eat my vegetables.

Provided by ChrisMc

Categories     Potluck

Time 5m

Yield 1 1/2 cup

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 1/2 cups low-fat mayonnaise
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons dried ginger (or 2 tsp fresh ginger, minced)

Steps:

  • Blend all ingredients well; chill.
  • Serve with fresh vegetables for snacking.
  • This will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator.
  • If using fresh ginger, cut slices perpendicular to the direction of the fibers, then place chucks in a garlic press and crush.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ginger and garlic: Fresh ginger and garlic have a more intense flavor than dried or powdered forms.
  • Peel the ginger and garlic before using: The skin of ginger and garlic can be tough and bitter.
  • Mince the ginger and garlic finely: This will help the flavors to be released more easily.
  • Use a variety of spices: In addition to ginger and garlic, try adding other spices like cumin, coriander, paprika, or turmeric.
  • Use a food processor or blender: This will help to create a smooth and creamy dip.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers: Try serving the dip with vegetables, crackers, pita bread, or chips.
  • Store the dip in the refrigerator for up to 3 days: The dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
