This is a great way to liven up Brussels sprouts. The orange and ginger zing pair perfectly with the sprouts' floral flavors. I have a blood orange infused olive oil that I like to use with this recipe. It helps with the zing. Other dried fruits or nuts might be interesting experiments.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, firm broccoli: Look for broccoli with deep green florets and tightly closed buds. Avoid broccoli with yellowing or wilted florets.
  • Cut the broccoli into uniform florets: This will help them cook evenly. If the florets are too large, they may not cook through properly.
  • Use a large skillet or wok: This will give the broccoli plenty of room to cook without overcrowding.
  • Cook the broccoli over high heat: This will help it retain its bright green color and crisp texture.
  • Stir the broccoli frequently: This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from burning.
  • Add the sauce at the end of cooking: This will help prevent the sauce from burning and will allow the broccoli to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
  • Serve the broccoli immediately: This is when it is at its best flavor and texture.

Conclusion:

Ginger orange broccoli is a delicious and healthy side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of main courses. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it spicy, sweet, or savory, there is a ginger orange broccoli recipe out there for you.
