LIME-GINGER COOLERS

Lime-ginger coolers -- made with lime juice, soda, and fresh ginger -- are a great way to start off a light lunchtime meal.

Provided by Martha Stewart

Categories     Food & Cooking     Drink Recipes     Cocktail Recipes

Yield Makes 6

Number Of Ingredients 5

Small ice cubes
12 dashes bitters
About 1 cup sweetened concentrated lime juice (preferably Rose's)
24 ounces (3 cups) seltzer
6 slices peeled fresh ginger

Steps:

  • Fill six 8-ounce glasses with ice. Add 2 dashes bitters and 2 to 3 tablespoons lime juice to each glass. Top with about 1/2 cup seltzer; stir. Add ginger, and serve.

Tips:

  • Using fresh ginger is always the best option for making ginger tea coolers. Fresh ginger has a stronger flavor and aroma than dried ginger.
  • If you don't have fresh ginger, you can use ground ginger. Just be sure to use half the amount of ground ginger as you would fresh ginger.
  • You can make ginger tea coolers ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • When you're ready to serve, add ice cubes or crushed ice to your ginger tea coolers.
  • You can garnish your ginger tea coolers with fresh ginger slices, lemon slices, or mint leaves.

Conclusion:

Ginger tea coolers are a refreshing and flavorful drink that can be enjoyed all year round. They're perfect for a hot summer day or a cold winter night. And because they're made with ginger, they're also good for your health. So next time you're looking for a healthy and delicious drink, try a ginger tea cooler. You won't be disappointed.
