1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon salt
4 to 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Additional butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, butter, sugar, egg, salt and 2 cups flour. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough., Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch the dough down. Turn onto a floured surface; divide in half. 2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
¾ cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
½ cup butter, room temperature
4 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup butter, softened

Steps:

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water.
